Abstract

The present study is performed to investigate the presence of phytochemicals for using selected medicinal plant such as Abrus precatorius. L. Soxhlet apparatus was used for the organic solvent extraction. Chloroform and aqueous solvents are used. The plant extract are subjected to qualitative analysis the experimental methods was done using standard procedure. Alkaloids, terpenoids, carbohydrates, phenols, tannin, flavonoids and saponin are observed in the selected plant. More than fifty Phytochemical compounds are identified in the chloroform extract of Abrus precatorius. L using GC – MS studies. Key words: Phytochemicals, Abrus precatorius. L, GC-MS studies
